Maesteg u3a meets at
St Michael Church, Church Place, Maesteg on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 2pm. These monthly meetings are for all members who wish to attend and listen to a wide range of topics presented by guest speakers. Refreshments are provided and its a welcoming environment to meet old friends or make new ones and chat.
We come together to learn, share our knowledge with others and to keep active. We do not run formal courses or examinations or award certificates and no qualifications are necessary to join. However, you will learn a lot, gain much enjoyment and make many friends, from all walks of life.
u3a is a self-help organisation for people who are retired or semi-retired and provides educational, creative and social opportunities in a very environment.
Each u3a is a social cooperative which draws upon the knowledge, experience and skills of its own members to organise and facilitate interest groups. Maesteg u3a current range of interest groups includes, Music Appreciation, Art Appreciation, Literature, Lunch group, French Conversation, Craft, Gardenng, Family History, Quiz group and Striders Walking. We all so plan theatre visits throughout the year.
Visitors. All visitors are welcome and can attended two Monthly meetings to evaluate joining the Maesteg u3a. There is a small charge to help cover the cost of guest speakers. This charge will be reimbursed should a vistor decide to join.
